Stick Furniture

Stick Furniture is exploring alternate ways of production and lightweight structures, on how how ready available wood material can be used in constructing light and rigid furniture. The furniture borrows from structural planning, using diagonal struts for increasing their strenght.

The stick Furniture event was on 31.7.2025 at Kultuurisauna. The event was a performance, where four furniture models were  constructed live for the visitors. The visitors could place orders that were assembled during the event.

Soft Infrastructure

Commissioned by the Biennale di Venezia as part of their College program, Soft Infrastructure is a collaborative project with Jaakko Heikkilä.
It presents a system of erosion control that utilizes common reed, an abundant resourse available along many shores. By using reed, the project aims to reduce excess nutrients from water bodies while offering protection for erosion-prone hillsides, making it possible for local flora to recover.

The installation is part of the main exhibition in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition.

Solenoid Loom

The Solenoid Loom is a tool that explores how weaving logic can be utilised outside of the field of textiles. It is an electromechanical tile patterning tool.By functioning according to the same principles as punch-card looms, the machine automates the patterning process of handmade tiles.
